An AI agent that answers your customers on WhatsApp
Your WhatsApp number can answer the people who write to it by itself, with AI, from what you tell it about your business. It uses your own Anthropic or OpenAI key. When it is not sure, it hands over to your team.
How it works
- Add your own AI key. An Anthropic or OpenAI API key, on the number's page, and a model from that provider's list.
- Tell it about your business. What you sell and your prices, hours, address, delivery, returns and payment.
- Choose when it answers. Always, only outside your working hours, or only when nobody on your team answered within a time you set.
- It answers people who write. Each answer is an ordinary reply from your number, with "typing…" first.
What it answers from
It answers only from your business text, your saved answers, the number's keyword auto-replies and the chat's recent messages. It is told never to invent prices, stock, times, discounts or promises.
When the answer is not there, or for a complaint, a refund, a payment or a request for a person, it says a teammate will reply soon.
It replies in the language the person wrote in, or always in Arabic or English, in a friendly or formal tone.
Your team stays in charge
- Your team sees every question. The chat stays under "Needs a reply" in your panel after the AI answers.
- A teammate's answer takes over. Once a teammate answers a chat, from the panel or the phone, the AI stays quiet there for 24 hours.
- You can stop it in one chat. "Stop AI in this chat" in the panel stops it there, until "Let AI answer in this chat".
What it costs
The agent uses your own key, so the AI's cost is on your account with Anthropic or OpenAI. Threadwire adds nothing to it. Set a monthly spending limit with your provider. Pricing shows what each plan includes.
Its limits
- Text only, one to one. It never answers a group, a channel, a status or a file: the AI cannot see a file, even one with a caption.
- It never writes first. It answers only people who write, and never someone who wrote "STOP".
- It is capped. You set the most AI replies a number sends a day. Each person also gets a limited number an hour and a day, so it never chats on with another bot.
- It can pause. If your provider refuses the key, your AI account has no credit, or the model is not open to your key, it answers nobody. Your admins get an email.
- Your provider sees the chat. The chat's recent messages and your business text go to the provider you chose, under your own account with them.
Every answer goes out with the same protection as any message: its pace and every limit. Threadwire links your number as a device; it is not Meta's official API. WhatsApp API without Meta approval says what that means. We cannot promise that a number will not be banned.
Who it is for
It fits a business whose customers write, day and night, with questions your business text can answer.
It is not a way to reach people who have not written to you, and it does not replace your team.
