WaAPI alternative: how Threadwire compares
WaAPI and Threadwire both link the WhatsApp number you already use and give your system an API to it. Both are unofficial, and both say so. Of the services we compared, WaAPI is the closest to Threadwire in one way: it too limits new conversations by default.
Checked on 12 October 2026, on WaAPI's own site. Prices and features change, so read their pages before you decide.

Sending safety
WaAPI's site explains the risk the same way we do: what gets numbers restricted is "contacting many people who never wrote to you". Its send protection limits new conversations per hour and per day, and it is on for every new number. A customer may switch it off for a number after confirming a warning.
Threadwire's limits are lower, and they stay on. A new number starts with few new people a day and warms up over two weeks. First messages go slowly and never at night, and new chats slow down, then pause, when WhatsApp warns the number. You can make the rules stricter, never switch them off. How Threadwire keeps your number safe has the figures.
